We left Pentwater headed north and chose Frankfort as our next stop.
Teresa’s office along the way.
Big Sable Light House
The bay in Lake Betsie at Frankfort was our first night anchorage.
In the morning after breakfast, we motored into Jacobson’s Marina Resort where they helped us tie up along the peninsula of their marina. Our spot is slightly out of the way from foot traffic on the regular piers.
After exploring town, we cooled off with a refreshing dinghy ride to the beach on Lake Michigan. We enjoyed swimming in the big lake. Teresa searched for rocks and Petoskey stones. She only found pretty rocks so far … but the hunt isn’t over! Steve spied two ice cream shops … I’m guessing he might re-visit that shop later in the day.
For those of you who know Steve and his sweet tooth for ice cream, that prediction is highly likely. Michigan Rag Company captured a few bills from us: a new grand-nephew is due around Thanksgiving and his big brother’s birthday is this week (which we missed his birthday celebration). Teresa even passed up the bookstore. For now anyway.
The water up here is crystal clear and finally warmed up. The beach was quite crowded. Even though it was hot in town, the beach proved pristine and beautiful. And a welcome relief from the land heated temperatures.
